Netherlands Consulate kicks off with Circular Economy Scoping Mission to implement the Netherlands-Nigeria Innovation Exchange – Circular Business Platform Leads Project.
The Netherlands Consulate in Nigeria, has started its scoping mission, to identify circular economy business opportunities and potential partners in Nigeria across six selected states namely Ogun, Oyo, Abia, Abuja, Anambra and Kano states. The scoping mission officially started on 12th March with a visit to Ogun state Ministry of Environment, Southwestern University and the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library.
This scoping mission which is one of the three key components required to develop and implement the Netherlands-Nigeria Innovation Exchange, the other two being the introduction of Nigerian organisations to relevant Dutch partners and a Strategy Week event in Nigeria, to support development of opportunities and help embed Dutch organizations into the Nigerian ecosystem is delivered by the Circular Business Platform.
Through these three stages, the Innovation Exchange hopes to identify new businesses, high potential organisations and individuals across sectors and regions, that are compatible partners to Dutch organizations in driving business development and opportunities. The Innovation will also provide business linkages, knowledge support and cultural exchange that builds strong business relationships.
The Exchange will build on previously identified circular economy business, pioneered or supported by the Consulate, indicated interest by Dutch companies to enter the Nigerian market, as well as past projects, namely the Roadmap Event, Strategy Week, Fashion Week and cassava peel project. The project will also leverage on its complementary partner and referrals, including Innovate UK, UNIDO and CE Hub initiative.
Ultimately, the Netherlands-Nigeria Innovation Exchange intends to scope and develop new opportunities to support business development in emerging sectors and regions.
