Entrepreneurship programming has exploded in recent years. According to VoxDev, a research association, aid agencies spend more than one billion dollars annually on entrepreneurship training, with mixed results.  In classic “funnel” models, potential entrepreneurs go through a rigorous selection process and are awarded cash and other resources. 

This is the third webinar in the CE Entrepreneurship in Africa Webinar Series themed, “Winner Takes All – Does it makes sense to give prizes in entrepreneurship programmes?” and it will be held online on 13th April 2023.

Join our guest speakers, Boluwatife Arewa, Managing Partner at Scrapays Technologies Limited and Sarah Ogbewey, Circular Economy Eco-system Builder & Former LOOPLab Project Manager in this session, as we investigate whether this model is really effective at generating sustainable circular businesses in Africa.

Meet the Key Speakers
Boluwatife Arewa is a graduate of Alibaba Business School and Founders Institute (fi.co), and Operations and Strategy Development personnel with certification in operations management from Vanderbilt University Nashville, who works closely with the tech-enabled and social inclined startups Sectors. He is currently the Managing Partner at Scrapays, a company that facilitates the recovery of recyclable materials by providing a software based (USSD,Web, Mobile App) recovery network, consisting of all four categories in the value chain, who are independent businesses and producers.
 
Sarah Ogbewey is a Circular Economy Eco-system Builder & the Former LOOPLab Project Manager. Her 15-year multifaceted work experience spans across Sustainable Development sectors in Health, Education, Environment and Security; covering SDG 4, 5, 7, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, 17. The British High Commission in Nigeria named her a Climate Champion, in preparation for Glasgow C.O.P.26. Her latest project “Waste-To-Art Week” was supported by the British Council Lagos. 
 
Her most recent technology-driven project “Recycle Hubs” is supported by Fate Foundation and the Orange Corners Nigeria of the Embassy of Netherlands. She runs free trainings on her Instagram page – teaching young social entrepreneurs and social development workers around Africa; strategies to success and accessing grants – Having won 5 grants for her founded organizations and projects.
